Dear Camaldolese Hermits: Thank you for your insightful history of the eremetic life. May I ask that you pray for me and all priests. Your prayers are not just powerful but are important for the Church. I pray that each of the Camaldolese hermits persevere in their vocation. Unless the Lord build the House, they labor in vain who build it. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus inflame your hearts to love, honor and adore him more and more each day of your lives.

In Christ, Fr Amato

Happy Father\'s day Fr. Flum! We miss you, but have felt your prayers over these last six months. We are doing well. You are never far from our hearts. We pray for you when ever we think of you. We are so grateful for your prayers and sacrifices as well as those of your community.

Dear Brothers,

Please pray for Gianna Adele Sheungrab. She was born premature on June 2nd to John and Stephanie Sheungrab. She is currently in the NICU and fighting desperately to breathe; there are concerns that she will need to be placed on a ventilator today. Father Flum sheperded this family through the RCIA process the year before he joined you in Ohio. We know that God is with this dear little girl, but it would mean so much to the family to know that you all are praying for her.

I keep you all in my prayers - thank you for carrying out your mission for the benefit of all God's people! May God continue to bless you all!

May the Peace of Our Lord be with you all,
Jess Hare

Christ's blessings to you all.

I have always kept you and your apostolate in my prayers since I first became aquainted with your order after having made a retreat at the motherhouse in Frascati, in the 70"s, at the suggestion of
Fr. andrew Dembicki (my army chaplain at the time).

I pray that his vocation from God has been fulfilled with you as I know that he loved and dreamed and desired to served God and His Church in this way.

If possible, would you please pass on to him my prayers and love to him?

I am married with two children 9 and 11 years of age. I have been a critical care and emergency room nurse at sacred heart medical center in spokane wahington for the last 23 years.. In christ, michael kaley

A Glimpse of Camaldoli

No, a hermit I am not,
though this day and last I live as one:
three-thirty rise and the language of
matins, lauds, vespers and none.

Showered in silence and Psalm:
forty-eight hours with Him in sight,
closer and closer to Christ,
side-by-side the eremite.

I notice not the volume of my world
or the false demands I seek to please,
until immersed, gratefully, in the Word,
among the Camaldolese.

Too soon this privilege must cease,
sending me to my world and its needs;
but if the opposite of retreat is advance,
then forward I’ll go, but go on my knees.

Tomorrow, though the noise be more,
pray, please, may less of it be mine,
for I have been blessed, yet muted,
by solitaries grafted to the Vine.

Greetings Fr. Flum, As part of a lenten Year of the Priest commemoration, my 13 year old daughter Nancy and her class are each offering their lent for a different DC Archdiocesan Priest. My daughter got you to pray for and my research shows you are now a hermit. I wanted you to know she prays for you every night and will all lent. I was hoping you could pray for her and her famiy. Thank you very much.
